Bengaluru: Larsen and Toubro’s (L&T) IT arm opened a centre of excellence for Internet of Things (IoT) innovations in manufacturing, oil and gas sectors here, the infrastructure major said on Tuesday.
“The centre will design, build and showcase solutions for smart, connected enterprises, from proof-of-concept to industrialised deployments,” said the Mumbai-based L&T Infotech in a statement.
It has been set up in partnership with Massachusetts-based software firm PTC.
“The centre will showcase the possibilities of transformative technologies to global customers, featuring industrial IoT solutions developed on PTC’s ThingWorx platform,” the company said.
Making use of real-time data from facilities at the L&T Infotech’s campus, the centre will work on providing smart transport solutions used to track and monitor the performance of lawn mowers, connected elevator solutions and generator-monitoring.
Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR) technologies will also be used to demonstrate how digital information can be used in the physical world and enable a seamless interaction for the users, the statement added.
