‘Loving’ Andy Murray names dog after fiancee Kim Sears

Andy Murray wanted to prove his love for his lovely fiancee Kim Sears, and hence decided to name a dog after her.

The 27-year-old tennis ace sponsors a sniffer dog, which was named Murray in his honour, to help fight poaching and the illegal wildlife trade in Nepal, and when it got a companion he decided to name it Sears, the Mirror reported.

Both Murray and Sears, who had been trained together in India, now reside and work together in Chitwan National Park with their handlers.

Murray, who will marry Miss Sears next month, is a WWF global ambassador and has been supporting their fight against poaching and illegal wildlife trade since November 2014.

He said that he was “delighted” to have the opportunity to name the companion of his namesake dog, and hopes that the partnership will help them in tackling poaching in Nepal.

Heather Sohl, chief species adviser at WWF-UK, said that Murray’s act of naming the dos after his fiancee was evidence that he was every bit serious about the issue. (ANI)
