Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajarangdal, on Wednesday, urged the managements of resorts, farmhouses, hotels and clubs to cancel ‘Valentines Day’ festivities on February 14. Both the organizations have said that celebrating Valentines Day was not Indian Culture. They warned that they will perform marriages to the lovers, who were seen on the roads on February 14. They alleged that multi-national companies were making the people of India to celebrate Valentines Day only to increase their business. They made it clear that they will not tolerate such activities. They warned the managements of resorts, farmhouses, hotels and clubs that they will face serious repercussions in case they failed to cancel celebrating Valentines Day.
On the other hand, one lawyer named Achyutha Rao has approached the Human Rights Commission asking to curb the atrocities of Vishwa Hindu Parishath and Bajarangdal on the occasion of Valentines Day to be celebrated on February 14. Responding to the petition, HRC has directed the City Police Commissioner to provide protection to the lovers. (NSS)
