Hyderabad, March 29: Two lovers, allegedly depressed after their elders refused to get them married, ended their lives in a suicide pact near Keesara yesterday.
The victims, S Hemalatha (17) and G Bhaskar (18), were residents of Narsampally hamlet in Yadgarpally village of Keesara mandal. They fell in love while studying SSC and joined intermediate in two different colleges in the city.
On coming to know of their love affair, Hemalatha’s parents objected to it and forced the girl to stop her studies.
Hemalatha’s parents even arranged her marriage with one of their relatives recently and the marriage was scheduled to be performed in the next few weeks. Depressed over this, the duo came near Keesaragutta yesterday and consumed pesticide brought along with them.
A local, Mahender, who saw them in pain inquired with them and Bhaskar told him that they have consumed pesticide and asked him to inform the same to one of his friend, Irfan.
Irfan who came to know about his friend’s act immediately aler ted 108 which rushed to the spot and shifted them to the Gandhi hospital. Both of them died while being shifted to a hospital.
