Love will happen when it has to, says a philosophical Shahid

Mumbai, August 12: Ever since Shahid Kapur had an unceremonious high profile breakup with long time girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, the actor has been in the thick of controversies regarding his kaput love life.

Right from Vidya Balan, Sania Mirza and Priyanka Chopra, the chocolate-boy actor has been linked to all his leading ladies. It seems that the boyish actor has learnt the lesson of his life as he has moved on. Yet, Shahid acknowledges the flack he drew post his excruciating breakup.

Talking to a news daily, Shahid Kapur said, “I had a very public break-up and the amount that people wrote about it threw me off. I feel it was understandable only to some extent. After that, I became rather closed about my personal life. It’s important to hold on to your privacy, or as much of it as you can.”

After experiencing a bitter breakup, Shahid is in no hurry to start another relationship and feels, “Love happens when it has to and I know it will. I don’t want to announce it to the world. It’s like someone opening your bedroom door and taking pictures, the questions get too invasive.”

Talking about love, Shahid sounds far more mature than his age as he says, “I never make wishes because I believe we never truly know what we want. God knows best…Love is a beautiful thing and everyone wants to find someone to share their life with, but you can’t make it happen on your own.”

The actor believes he is in an introspective mode and in a positive frame of mind as, “Every experience takes you forward in life. Do what you can do with your circumstances. Relationships are never going to be perfect and require a lot of adjustment. Don’t have too many expectations and look for the good.”
