Rajsamand (Rajasthan) : Shambu Lal Raigar had claimed that he killed a 45-year-old Muslim man, Afrazul, and burnt his body over ‘Love Jihad’ but his close friends say that he was in love with a minor Hindu girl who was allegedly close to a Muslim man (not the one who was killed (Afrazul).
According to News reported in India Times, Shambu Lal became insecure because he felt that girl will elope with her lover. His friends also say that Shambu Lal led some group of people to West Bengal to bring back the girl but he was beaten by Bengali labourers.
Neighbours say that Shambu Lal was involved in Marble business which went in loss after demonetisation was announced last year. Since then his behaviour was abnormal and was addicted to alcohol and ganja.
A close friend of Shambu Lal said that “He went for swimming every morning to the Rajsamand Lake and would always take his kids along. He mentioned many times that people may harm his kids, especially his younger daughter, so he took them wherever he went. His younger daughter always accompanied her father everywhere.”
