Hyderabad, October 30: Despite the encounter killing of three youngsters who poured acid on two engineering students, leading to the death of one of the girls in Warangal district not long ago, love-maniacs continue to kill innocent girls. On a single day on Saturday, two innocent lives were snuffed by maniacs in two districts.
In one of the incidents in Warangal, the maniac who killed an innocent girl was found dead under suspicious conditions this morning, giving rise to doubts that it was another case of ‘instant justice’ by the Warangal police.
Swati is a final year engineering student of Warangal. One Nazir has been stalking her since some time and killed her on Saturday, as she spurned his love. According to police, Nazir asked Swati to come a garden to sort out the problem and the innocent girl went there along with a friend. The friend was standing apart when Nazir cut Swati’s throat and also inflicted fifteen stab injuries. Though Swati’s friend immediately reached her to the hospital, she could not be saved.
Nazir who ran away after the incident, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the railway tracks near Komatipalli this morning (Sunday). Human rights activists suspect it to be a police murder and an act of ‘instant justice’ for which Warangal police became infamous. Police however said that Nazir has committed suicide.
In the second incident in Kamareddy of Nizamabad district, intermediate student Rafia was brutally murdered by Lakshman, another maniac.
Lakshman who was a tenant of Rafia’s house has been pestering the girl to love him. When she complained to her parents, Lakshman was sternly warned and his family was asked to vacate. Yesterday (Saturday) Lakshman has brutally beaten Rafia with a pestle and done her to death. He later stabbed himself and is now struggling for his life.
These incidents once again shocked the civil society. A startled Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed the police authorities to deal with cases of love mania strictly.
It may be recalled that in Warangal, three youngsters were shot dead by the police in a suspicious encounter after they poured acid on two engineering students Swapnika and Pranita. While Swapnika died later, Pranita recovered. The three youth Srinivas (main accused, Sanjay and Hari Krishna (accomplices) were later shot dead by the police in an alleged encounter. While human rights activists and opposition parties cried foul at the encounter, students and parents hailed it as ‘instant justice’. Whether it was a real encounter or fake, people expected that it would serve as a deterrent for other maniacs. The incidents later, including these two killings of Saturday proved that even ‘instant justice’ failed to unnerve these maniacs.
