In yet another incident of vengeful act, a maniac, who was mentally torturing a young woman in the name of love, on Sunday morning attacked the hapless girl and her mother with a knife and fled.
The bizarre incident occurred in Sainagar near Nagole on the city outskirts. It is learnt the miscreant was trailing and harassing the girl in the name of love even after she spurned his overtures. Enraged over the girl’s refusal to talk to him, Kalyan, armed with a knife barged into the girl’s house and inflicted knife wounds on the girl and her mother and fled in spite the local residents tried to grab him.
It is learnt that the victim and the culprit worked in a jewellery shop. Ever since, he was harassing the girl in the name of love.
