Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday mocked the BJP-led NDA regime, saying it changes its target of surgical strike every 15 days beginning with love jihad to Pakistan to demonetisation.
“We did a lot of work for development, but there are parties which change target of their surgical strikes every 15 days. God knows where their plans start from and where they end.
They started from love jihad, they said what not about surgical strikes and now the issue of demonetisation is in front of you,” said Akhilesh while speaking at the foundation ceremony of various projects at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here.
Praising his party cadres for working towards the betterment and upliftment of the people of Uttar Pradesh, he asserted that there were some forces which wanted to stop them from doing so.
“On the one hand, there are the Samajwadi Party people who are working towards development and on the other, there are forces which want to stop the Samajwadis,” he said.
The Chief Minister also taunted the much talked about demonetisation drive, saying this move has pushed the economy backwards.
“Demonetisation has affected the economy regressively and has created immense trouble for the poor and farmer. The economy of every country, which took such a decision, was affected. We were forward moving people, but we have been pushed backwards,” he said.
The Chief Minister’s outburst against the Centre came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that people in Uttar Pradesh were fed up of hooliganism.
Addressing a rally in Kanpur yesterday, Prime Minister Modi alleged that people sitting in the government are giving shelter to those goons.
“Where will the common man go? Their houses and land are being grabbed. Till the time, the government changes in Lucknow, these goons won’t stop,” he said in a direct attack on the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh.
