Hyderabad: The candidates in the election fight had attempted to throw rash challenges and now that the election results did not favour them, will these politicians stick to their strange promises needs to be seen.
Earlier in November this year when TRS member Errabelli Dayakar Rao and TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy faced each other in the Assembly lobbies, the former asked the latter when he would remove his beard. In a prompt reply, he said he would do so after his party’s win in elections.
The TRS emerged victorious in the Telangana Assembly elections on Tuesday, bagging 88 seats out of the 119-member assembly. Prajakutami, an alliance of the Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won 21 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) bagged only one seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won 7 seats.
Now, will Mr Uttam Kumar Reddy shave his long beard after seeing the recent result? this is left for him to answer. The TPCC president took a pledge in 2016 not to shave his beard till his party, the Congress, came to power in Telangana state.
