Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta has sent a reminder to the Chief Minister’s Office here asking action taken against former Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Awadh Pal Singh Yadav found quilty of in irregularities. The former minister had resigned on August 17 last year from his post following recommendation of the Lokayukta N K Mehrotra for his removal from the Mayawati ministry for indulging in corrupt practices and misusing his official position.
Yadav had allegedly grabbed gram sabha land, facilitated award of contracts to his son and other relatives, got criminal cases lodged against his political rivals and tried to influence the district administration during election of chairperson of block development committee of Aliganj in Etah district.
Later, the BSP had suspended him from the party after his decision to file a writ petition in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. In the writ petition, Yadav claimed that he was compelled to resign from his post as minister following Lokayukta’s report. According to Lokayukta office here today, the reminder has been sent a few days back to CM’s office seeking details about action taken against the former minister.
