Lock on Patancheru Govt. Hospital mosque

A Rural Health Center was established in Patancheru which was affiliated to Osmania Medical College. Recently, the residence of Patancheru met Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and informed him that the management of Govt. hospital, Patancheru have locked the mosque situated inside the hospital premises. The local residents are not allowed to offer their prayers whereas in the temple constructed illegally behind the hospital, people are permitted to perform their religious rituals. This hospital center was constructed on the garden and farm house of Nawab Meer Osman Ali Khan. He used to go there to spend his holidays. In 1912 he constructed this mosque. In 1951 this Rural Health Center was established. This hospital occupies 10 acres of land. There is a beautiful well at the entrance of the mosque which was build 101 years back. The local residents told that this well never dried up during the past 1 century. It is not known who locked the door of the mosque. The hospital authorities have imposed a condition that only the office staff of the hospital can offer their prayers in the mosque. The hospital staff consists of only 4 Muslims including two women. In such a case it is not possible to offer prayers in the mosque.

Five years back, Wakf Board had written a letter to Osmania Medical College about this mosque but so far no reply has been sent. Wakf Board is also keeping quiet. It is necessary that the concerned Muslims of the area should take immediate action to get the mosque unlocked.
