Telangana Housing Minister A Indrakaran Reddy alleged that the local residents and farmers did not participate in the ‘Kisan Sandesh Yatra’ undertaken by AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi in Nirmal on Friday.
Speaking to media persons here, Indrakaran Reddy said that the participants of yatra were Congress workers, who were mobilised from surrounding districts. Describing Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra as a political show, he alleged that wrong policies of Congress Government in the 10 year regime were responsible for farmers’ suicide. He said maximum number of farmers committed suicide only during Congress rule. He said that the Congress party was now demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation for the families of farmers who committed suicide. But it did not extend similar package while it was in power for a decade.
