Hyderabad: Due to increasing resentment of the voters in certain Assembly constituencies of Old City, the local political party has struck a secret deal with BJP on one hand and on the other with TRS in order to save four seats in Karwan, Charminar, Nampally and Malakpet Assembly Constituencies.
It is presumed that there is likely to be a tough competition in these constituencies. In order to avoid division of the votes of majority community, this deal has been finalized. In Karwan area, strong BJP candidate, Baddam Bal Reddy was posing a tough competition to the local political party. As a result of this secret pact, Baddam Bal Reddy was shifted from Karwan to Rajendranagar constituency although, he holds a strong following in Karwan area. He is a local resident of this constituency also.
For the past two tenures, voters of Karwan constituency were vexed up with the performance of the local political party MLA. This displeasure was exhibited on the occasion of the visit of the local MLA in the area.
According to the reports, Baddam Bal Reddy was persuaded to change his constituency after making huge payment to him. On the other hand, TRS was asked to float an unknown and ordinary worker as a candidate in this constituency.
By dividing the votes of the Muslim voters, the success of TRS or BJP would be ensured in Rajendranagar area. In this constituency, an unknown Muslim candidate is being floated by the local political party as a result of which, there will be a tough competition between TRS and BJP.
Following the same strategy, success is being assured in Charminar, Malakpet and Nampally constituencies. Bewildered with the popularity of Congress, violence was resorted to in Nampally constituency when a woman Congress worker was attacked. The competition in Charminar and Malakpet is also going to be very tough for the local political party candidates. In both these constituencies, the trend of the voters is against the local political party.
It is reported that the local political party struck a secret deal both with TRS and BJP persuading these parties to float such candidates who are capable of splitting the votes of majority community.
The local political party is facing tough competition in Charminar due to the popularity of Congress and in Malakpet due to the popularity of TDP. In these constituencies, a strategy has been evolved to divide the votes of majority community by stopping their votes going in favour of TDP and Congress. For this purpose, it is understood that a huge amount was spent and recommendations were made in favour of TRS and BJP candidates who could work for the local political party.
It is presumed that in order to seek the support of BJP in Old City, secret help would be provided by the local political party to BJP in Amberpet and Khairtabad areas so as to ensure the success of BJP candidates.
Whatever strategies are adopted to make the contest easier in Old City, the results of the next election could be very surprising. Political analysts opine that a wave is continuing in favour of change in all the Telangana area. In the same manner, voters want a change in the constituencies of Old City also. Due to its weak position in Telangana, TRS is unable to support the local political party openly in the Old City constituencies. This is the reason, the local political party stuck a secret deal with BJP to ensure the success of its candidates in old City.
It is reported that Congress and TDP have decided to float strong candidates from Old City.
