Telangana Local Lorry Owners’ Association has decided to join the State Lorry Owners’ Association strike from the midnight of Friday as both the State and Union governments have failed to solve their problems and end the strike.
The association held a special meeting under the chairmanship Md Iqbal Hussain, general secretary and pledged its full support to the lorry owners’ strike and decided to go on strike from April 7 midnight over their long-pending demands like withdrawal of prohibition of 15-year old vehicles, enhanced third-party insurance fees in the GHMC area, hike in insurance fee up to Rs 300, re-registration fee, lorry ownership transfer fee, fitness fee, temporary and permanent permit fees, driver learning licence fee, toll tax fee and police harassment in GHMC area and so on.
R. Rabhu Lingam, president and Advocate, K. Janardhan Reddy, Md Kareemullah, Md Idrees Ahmed vice-presidents, Mohd Mohsin Qureshi, Treasurer and others participated in the meeting. (NSS)
