Hyderabad: TRS has opened the doors for the leaders of all parties. After assuming power in Telangana, TRS started admitting the leaders of other political parties into its fold. When Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali was made Dy. CM, Muslim community forwardly welcomed but its effect was felt when TRS got mass support in GHMC elections.
After the GHMC elections, the leaders of the local political party are thinking of joining TRS since they expect appointments to nominated positions. The leaders of the local party have come to know that they are not in a position to oppose the Govt. on any issue. They are accepting everything without any hesitation. They have no strategy to check the sentiments of its workers to stop them from joining TRS.
It may be mentioned that in GHMC elections, Congress made serious attempts but the results were poor whereas TRS did not pay much attention to the old city constituencies but many of its candidates got second position in several wards. The votes polled in favour of TRS have taken away the sleep of the local political leaders. The votes polled by unfamiliar candidates are startling.
There are strong possibilities that some of the MLAs of the local parties may join TRS. If everything is favorable, one MLA is ready to join TRS.
It may be mentioned that Shaadi Mubarak, Aasra pension, Scholarship, Overseas students’ grants up to Rs.10 lakh have attracted minorities towards TRS. In addition to it, the efforts of Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali to reach out to the people directly also benefited TRS. Some of the youths have already started joining TRS. Mr. Mirza Murtuza Baig who is the brother of MIM corporator of Riyasat Nagar division join TRS on the occasion of Telangana Formation Day. He told that he was very much impress by the welfare programs of TRS. He also said that no government thought of the prosperity and development of Muslims. In the same manner, an active worker of Towlichowki Municipal Division, Mr. Mohammed Abdul Quddus Rizvi also joined TRS. The party has nominated him Chairman of Minorities Division.
Rumours are making rounds in the political circles that if the leaders join TRS, their development is possible. If they remain in other parties, they can’t progress. According to authentic sources, an MLA who is on the list of land grabbers is in contact with the Govt. to settle his affairs whereas another MLA is also trying to maintain good relations with TRS Govt. to protect his business interests.
