Yavatmal, April 20: The MSEDCL have increased the load-shedding to six hours in urban areas and 13 hours in the rural villages across the district, thus causing great inconvenience and huge losses to the people and industry.
The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd; increased the duration of load-shedding by one hour from 5 hours to 6 hours in urban areas and to two hours from 11 hours to 13 hours in the rural villages from yesterday, an MSEDCL official said.
A senior MSEDCL engineer on condition of annonymity said that the monthly energy requirement of the district is over 263 MW, while the supply is only 150 MW due to which the load shedding is inevitable.
The short supply of energy to the tune of over 113 MW per month compels the authority to increase the existing load shedding, he said.
