Owaisi to address anti NRC-NPR-CAA public meeting in Sangareddy

Sangareddy [TS]: Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and Hyderabad MP will addressa ublic meeting against Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).

This public protest will be organized by the United Muslim Action Committee and Samvidhan Rakshta Committee in the Sangareddy district. Hyderabad police denied permission to the UMAC to organize a march against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

It may be mentioned that yesterday, Hyderabad police had denied permission to the United Muslim Action Committee, led by Asaduddin Owaisi, to organise a march against CAA.

Earlier, Owaisi had sought police permission for the march on 4th and 5th January.

Anti-CAA protests

It may be mentioned that ever since the Parliament passed the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019, there is unrest in the entire country over the apprehension of NRC.

Due the CAA, some political leaders presume that non-Muslims can claim citizenship even if they don’t have supportive documents. However, it is not that simple.

As per some analysts, non-Muslims have to prove that they are from Pakistan or Afghanistan or Bangladesh if they want to claim benefits of CAA.

Although there was limited to no MIM presence at the Million March at the Dharna Chowk, party supremo Asaduddin Owaisi will be addressing a gathering that is centered around the very initiatives that today’s protesters who voiced their opposition against.
