Moulana Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani, Chairman, A.P. Wakf Board on his return after the inspection of Balapur mosque visited the Muslim Graveyard. This graveyard is on the road side. It is surrounded on both the sides by roads. For the past few days, garbage is being dumped in this graveyard so that the signs of the Muslim graves vanish to make an easy way for marking the plots for sale. The chairman instructed the staff to erect a board notifying that this graveyard is a Wakf property.
Facing the graveyard there is a liquour compound. Wakf inspector of Balapur informed the Chairman of Wakf Board that this liquour compound is located on Wakf land for which a notice has already been issued to the illegal occupant. The occupant denied it and said that he has been selling liquour since 1972 on this land. Wakf records falsify his claims. As per the Wakf records this property is registered as Wakf land under RR/35 S.No. 8 Mandal Saroornagar Village, Balapur area, one acre 10 guntas land Gaz. No. 16.A dt. 9-2-1989. Gaz f/No. 2079.
The owner of this liquour compound is Mr. Nagesh Goud. He does not admit that the land is a Wakf property. He does not even receive the Wakf notice. It seems that the officials of Wakf Board are helpless in the case of this land and its illegal occupant. When the officer incharge of Balapur Gram Panchayat was contacted, a gentleman intervened our conversation and said that where is the need to raise this issue now when in the habitation of 18 thousand persons not a single Muslim is there. He introduced himself as Jitender and told that he is the president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He said that only half an acre of land is in the possession of Nagesh Goud. The president of VHP informed that there is a 400 year old Qutub Shahi mosque at Balapur which is uninhabited.
No prayer was offered after police action in this mosque. This mosque is in a very worn out condition. It is under the occupation of a person belonging to Yadav community. These are the only few examples of illegal possessions. There are hundreds of such mosques and Muslim graveyards of such mosques and Muslim graveyards which are in the illegal possession of the non-Muslims.
The Muslim graveyard of Balapur is likely to be grabbed by non-Muslims very soon. It is time for the officials of Wakf Board to inspect and erect a boundary wall to save the Wakf Land.
