The Lion’s Club International organized ‘International Women’s Day’ at Kompally, on the city outskirts, on Sunday.
Governor ESL Narasimhan’s wife Vimala Narsimhan and Minister Sunitha Laxma Reddy were present. On this occasion, 11 women were felicitated for achieving recognition in their respective fields.
During the function, it was resolved that women and girl students must be given various facilities and special reservations on the lines of Chattisgarh government’s initiative. It also resolved that the government must supply free bi-cycles to the students, who go to schools walking a distance of at least 10 km. (NSS)
