Hyderabad, December 27: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee Linguistic Minority Cell president, Mr Ashok Singh, has urged the AICC president, Ms Sonia Gandhi, to immediately declare separate Telangana State with Hyderabad as capital, after submission of Justice B.N. Srikrishna Committee report to the Union government on December 31.
Speaking to media persons here on Sunday, Mr Ashok Singh demanded that the State government withdraw all the cases foisted against the Osmania University students and people during the Telangana agitation in the region. He also demanded that the Centre provide 10 per cent reservation to the linguistic minorities in education and employment. He demanded that the State government set up a separate Linguistic Minority Corporation and build residential hostels for the linguistic minorities.
Mr Ashok Singh exuded confidence that the AICC president would declare Telangana State before 2014. He appealed to the people of Telangana and students to continue their agitation in a democratic manner to achieve their goal.
