Hyderabad, April 17: A casual employee of the AP Transco, who told his family that he had made Rs 50 lakh in a land transaction, went missing under mysterious circumstances two days ago. The family suspects kidnap.
Th e missing p e r s o n , G Narasimha Reddy, is a lineman with the AP Transco at Chatrinaka and a resident of Karmanghat.
Chat r i n a k a p o l i c e s a i d Narasimha Reddy left home on April 12 evening for night shift. In the early hours of April 13, he called up his wife and said that he had made a land transaction and would soon get Rs 50 lakh. Reddy, however, did not divulge any details about the said transaction.
After the call, neither did Reddy return home nor did he make another call. When his family members tried to contact him, his mobile was found switched-off. After searching for Reddy at his friends and relatives’ houses, his cousin, Jaipal Reddy, approached the Chatrinaka police on Wednesday and lodged a missing case.
Narashima Reddy’s family members suspect that he might have been kidnapped but could not give the possible reasons or name the suspects.
Police investigation revealed that Narasimha Reddy had no land in the city and the family are also unaware of the land transaction that he had claimed to have made.
Police are collecting the call details from Narasimha Reddy’s phone to trace his whereabouts.
