Hyderabad, March 14: Denizens reeling under heat wave conditions with soaring day temperatures are expected to get some relief soon. The Meteorological department has predicted light showers in a week. The day temperature reported in the city on Sunday was 35.2 degrees Celsius. Met officials informed that cool nights would prevail in the next few weeks due to cold winds blowing from the east towards Telangana.
S Venkateswara Rao, assistant meteorologist told Express that the month of March is considered as the transitory period. During this time, there would be cool condition during the night while the day would be hot with high temperatures.
“The eastern winds, coming from West Bengal are expected to pass over various locations over the Telangana region.
Under its influence, the dual weather will continue in the next few days in the twin cities,” he said.
Rao said the cumulonimbus clouds are moving very actively and humidity level had gradually increased.
“There is a possibility of light showers in the twin cities next week with occasional thundershowers,” he informed.
The day temperature, however, is expected to touch 36 degree Celsius on Monday while the sky is expected to be clear.
