With the prevailing climatic anticyclone over Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea along with the associated north-south oriented trough passing through the Telangana State during the week, rain/thundershowers occurred at a few places over Mahbubnagar, Janagaon, Ranga Reddy, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally and neighborhood.
The highest rainfall was 39mm at Nawabpet and 38mm at Maganoor (Mahbubnagar) on April 29, 26mm at Bachannapet (Janagaon) on April 30, 28mm at Shankarapalle (Ranga Reddy) on May 1, 23mm at Bhadradri-Kothagudem on May 2 and 27mm at Burgampade (Bhadradri-Kothagudem) on May 3 and 33mm at Mutharam (Jayashankar-Bhupalpally).
Maximum temperatures were slightly above normal at a few places during the week over north and eastern parts of the state with average maximum temperature recorded 39°C to 42°C over Nirmal, Kamareddy, Jagtial, Rajanna-Sircilla, Komarambheem-Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalle, Jayashankar-Bhupalpally, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet districts on few days and the remaining part of the state were near normal in the range of 38°C to 40°C. Highest maximum temperatures of 44.0°C recorded at Khanapur (Nirmal), 45.0°C at Gullakonda (Jagitial) on May 4 during the week.
Based on the Weather Model run at TSDPS of Planning Department and other available numerical guidance from National Centers (IMD and other centers), it indicates that, with the prevailing north-south oriented trough passing through the Telangana State, light rain/thundershowers are expected at isolated places over some parts of the State during the second half of the week.
The gradual rise of maximum temperatures is likely over north and eastern parts of the state during the first half of the week. It will be in the range of 41°C to 44°C over north and eastern parts of the state and the remaining parts of the state is excepted to be in the range of 39°C to 42°C, while the minimum temperature will be in the range of 25°C to 29°C during the week, according to Y.V.
