New Delhi: Light rain and cold winds brought relief from the heat in the national capital on Monday morning. The minimum temperature settled at 24 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average.
The city received 7.8 mm rain in the last 24 hours, the Met office said.
An official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said similar weather was expected on Tuesday.
“The sky will turn partly cloudy during the day. There are possibilities of thunderstorms and rain,” the official added.
The maximum temperature was likely to hover around 35 degrees Celsius.
The humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded at 87 per cent.
Sunday’s maximum temperature settled at 36.3 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season’s average, and the minimum temperature was recorded 22.5 degrees Celsius, five notches below the season’s average.
