Patna: Light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few places in Bihar today even as the Meteorological department has predicted the same for tomorrow.
A few places in north-east and south-west parts of the state received light to moderate rainfall, it said.
Purnea recorded the highest amount of rainfall of 30.8 mm among the major cities in the past 24 hours while Bhagalpur received 6 mm rainfall and Patna 2.2 mm rainfall, it said.
Gaya, which received a trace in the past 24 hours, received 9 mm of rainfall since 8:30 am today while Bhagalpur recorded 5 mm rain with Patna and Purnea witnessing no rains today.
The state capital remained hot and humid all through the day due to absence of rain today.
The Met department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours in various parts of the state.
Patna and Gaya are expected to witness a generally cloudy sky with moderate rainfall while Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain, it said.
Purnea recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.3 degree Celsius followed by 36.2 in Patna, 35.6 in Bhagalpur and 35.3 degrees at Gaya.
Purnea also remained the most humid place with maximum morning humidity level recorded at 91 per cent followed by 85 per cent of humidity level each in Patna and Bhagalpur while it was 76 per cent in Gaya.
