Life of Sania Fatima who became Anjali, takes a new turn

A father remembered his daughter after 12 years but he has to wait further as his relation with the girl has to be proved through DNA test. The girl is presently being brought up in the house of a painter in Hyderabad.

Thirty-two people had died when an explosion ripped through Gokul Chat Bhandar at Kothi at around 7.50 pm on 25 August 2007. A painter named Papalal resident of Jumerat Bazar found a 3 and a half year old girl Sania Fatima at the blast site and he adopted her. The girl is named Anjali by her new parents. Now she is the student of 4th class.

Life of 12-year-old Sania Fatima took many turns. In August 2007 her name first came to light following Gokul Chat explosion. Again during 2007-2008 communal controversy erupted over non-Muslim family adopting her. And now her life takes a new turn. One Yousuf, resident of Attapur Rajendranagar claimed that Sania is his daughter. He has lodged a complaint at Shah Inayat Gunj police station in this connection. Yousuf is a driver in Lok Ayukt. According to him his first wife gave birth to Fatima however he has divorced his fist wife. Yousuf produced Fatima’s childhood photograph as a proof. After Yousuf’s claim Papalal’s family is reeling from anger and grief. In view of Yousuf’s claim police has decided to undertake DNA test.
