Licenses to Toddy societies in a month: Padma Rao Goud

Hyderabad: Excise Minister T. Padma Rao Goud today said the TRS government will plant five crore toddy seedlings in three years to bring past glory back to toddy-tappers’ community.

Participating in Haritha Haram program at Kamareddy in Nizamabad district, Goud said the government released Rs 35 crore for growing toddy seedlings across the State. He said licenses will be given to reopen the toddy societies closed in the State in a month. Speaking on the occasion, Padma Rao said the licenses will be offered to those apply on time. The Minister asked the people to protect the saplings as their primary responsibility. He also said the government was committed to increase forest cover to ensure that more rains are attracted. (NSS)
