Britian, April 07: Libya conflict is more like Kosovo war rather than the Iraq’s, the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has said in an interview in Denmark.
Blair, interviewing media over the current situation of Libya and the military intervention of Britain in the country unrest, said, “I don’t think we’ve got an option. Not intervening is also a decision”, he says. Blair also said his country could not “sit back and let people be killed in large numbers.”
In response to the question asking whether air power in Libya was enough, he said “Libya is less like Iraq and more like Kosovo.”
However, war experts say Blair had been well aware of the insufficiency of air strike in Kosovo war before US then President Bill Clinton planning the deployment of ground troops, which was thereafter yielded by then President of Serbia and Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic.
Blair, surprisingly, attested that he and most Iraqis believe the Iraq war has basically been a failure.
