Library of old Unani and Ayurvedic manuscripts to be established soon

Govt. of A.P. has contemplated to establish a library to preserve old Unani and Ayurvedic manuscripts.

Mr. M.F.Farooqui, Special Secretary, Ministry of Forests and Environment, Govt. of India disclosed it while talking to newspaper reporters in Hyderabad. He was replying to a question on bio piracy. He told that if any person wants to claim the patent of a medical product, he has to pass through the data stored in this library. He informed that there is a positive response for old Unani and Ayurvedic manuscripts among the public. About the bio piracy laws, he told that in G.O.P. Negoya Protocol, these laws have been used in a better way. He told that this issue and other related issues would be discussed in the meeting of C.O.P. to be held on 10th October 2012 in Hyderabad. Emphasis would be laid on public awareness programmes and other topics.
