New Delhi: Lt Governor Najeen Jung doesn’t have any power to check AAP government’s files, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today said, wondering whether the LG is “our headmaster or principal”.
He also sought to know who has given LG the power to check files pertaining to his government’s works, saying only people have this right and they can even throw him out of power.
“Whether we have committed corruption, thefts or done several irregularities… who has given him (LG) to check our files. Is he our headmaster or principal?
“Only people have right to check our work and they can only throw us out (of the power). Will LG now check whether CM has done a good homework or not,” Kejriwal said at a programme ‘Agenda Aaj Tak’.
His remarks come after when he was asked about files pertaining to his government’s decisions and alleged irregularities being checked by the LG.
Last month, the Shangulu Committee formed by the LG to examine 400 files pertaining to the AAP government’s decisions, had submitted its report to Jung’s office.
Sources said the committee has “pointed out violations of rules” by the AAP government in making several decisions.
