Let’s unite to separate:Kishan Reddy

BJP State president G Kishan Reddy today gave a call to the people of Andhra Pradesh to unite to separate. He said that they should separate, so that they could live together like brethren.

Launching Telangana Poru Deeksha, his three-day fast at Jantar Mantar here on Monday, Kishan Reddy said that the ruling Congress would be washed away in the 2014 elections if it did not concede Telangana State. He said the people of the region were demanding formation of ‘T’ State in one voice and asked the Centre to immediately start the process. He said that several people laid down their lives because UPA had gone back on its promise on Telangana and it should own moral responsibility for these unfortunate deaths.

Kishan Reddy claimed that in contrast, the BJP stood by its word on bifurcation of the State. He lamented that despite BJP’s assurance of support to a ‘T’ Bill in Parliament, the government had not come forward to move it so far. He demanded that the UPA government should at least now move the Bill and assured his party’s support to shore it. He charged the UPA government with deliberately delaying solution to the decades’ old issue on pretext of seeking consensus. He reminded that his party had created three States when it was in power.

The BJP senior leader Rajnath Singh formally launched the fast by putting a saffron shawl round Kishan Reddy’s shoulders. Telangana Joint Action Committee convener Prof. Kodandaram, senior BJP leader Ch. Vidyasagar Rao and several ‘T’ employees’ leaders were present on the occasion.
