In the first revelation of the Quran, Allah (SWT) directed us to “read”. Due reading of this surah, Hazrath Mohammed (PBUH) was made Prophet of Islam. If we forget reading, we will be nowhere. Mr. Syed Ziaur Rahman, a scholar from Buland Shaher told this (U.P) while addressing a gathering at Rang Mahal in Bidar District yesterday. He was addressing a programme on Personality Development.
He told the students that Harvard, Oxfard, Sorbone and Melborne were the Christian institutions. They were converted into modern universities. Muslims converted only Al-Azhar institution into Al-Azhar University. Except this, no other religious institution of the Muslims could attain the status of a modern University.
After listening to the problems of “Hifzul Quran Plus” institution, he told that there is a need to acquire modern scientific and technological education. Describing the methods of getting modern scientific knowledge, he said that the topic of science can’t be learnt by hard. The method of rote learning won’t work in this field. It needs practical training.
The programme was started with the recitation of Quranic verses.
