IT Minister KT Rama Rao today called upon the denizens of the city to maintain cleanliness and personal hygiene and make the city clean and green. “Let us change and change the city”, he exhorted the people.
Addressing “Hamara Basthi – Hamara Shehar” at Qutbullapur here today, KTR said Hyderabad was one of the fast developing cities in the country. “We have people, who respond better on every issue”, he said, adding that the city will be developed into a global destination with active participation of the people, the Minister said. The people and leaders should join hands to develop Hyderabad in terms of sanitation, greenery and for pollution-free environment.
Stating that there is no political angle in the meeting he said that the program is meant for addressing local issues with people participation. We have plans to develop the city to cater to the future needs of people whose number will be doubled in 10-20 years. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has plans to develop city on par with others and make it a global destination he said.
He also said that number of circles under GHMC purview were increased for smooth governance and steps being taken to provide better facilities. The city has 22000 sanitary workers in the city who are cleansing the roads and streets. Law and order is under control in the city and crime rate has come down he claimed. The Government will provide 24 hour power to other sectors in future in addition to farm sector now he said. KTR said that people participation is important to develop city in terms of greenery, beautiful and sanitation. We can develop city if everyone feels that Hyderabad is mine, the minister said. (NSS)
