Let people decide who was right in Karnataka: Moily

New Delhi, October 17: Union Law Minister M Veerappa Moily has
said it is for the right-minded people to decide who was right
in the ”clash” between two constitutional authorities –Governor
and Speaker of the Assembly– in Karnataka when a political crisis
unfolded in the state recently during which Chief Minister B S
Yeddyurappa had to win two trust votes in a matter of few days on
the floor of the House to save the government of the day.

Refusing to wade into the debate over the role of H R Bhardwaj
in the entire episode, Mr Moily, in an interview to a satellite news
channel, said the Governor’s decision to ‘advise’ the Speaker to
maintain the position of the Legislative Assembly,

when Mr. Yeddyurappa was asked by him to prove his majority was a not a
transgression on the authority of the Chair.
