Shillong, December 04: The two suspected Lashker-e-Taiba militants, handed over to India by Bangladesh Rifles, were today flown to Bangalore by a special police team of the southern state.
“Bangalore Police had come with production warrant and they have taken charge of them this morning. Our job is over,” Meghalaya DGP S B Kakati said.
He said the LeT militants, believed to be involved in the 2005 Bangalore terror attack at the Indian Institute of Sciences that left an IIT professor dead, were flown to Bangalore.
Nazir Tarian Dabede (25) alias T Nazir and another LeT operative Siraj Shamshudeen Shamas (33), both from Kerela, were handed over to BSF by BDR on Wednesday. They were in Meghalaya police custody since then. A court of the Additional District Magistrate had remanded them in one-day judicial custody yesterday.
