Let New Year bring prosperity to people: CM

Hyderabad, January 01: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar today wished that the new year would bring peace, happiness and wealth to the denizens of the State.

In a message here today to the people on the eve of new year, he reiterated his government’s commitment to the welfare of farmers and the poor, and he hoped that all government schemes would benefit the genuinely needy. Kiran Kumar Reddy said, “Andhra Pradesh has witnessed huge development and promises to emerge as the most progressive state in the country. The government will ensure that basic requirements for the common man such as health, food security and an own house are fulfilled in a phased manner.”

“Though the state is developing fast, heavy rains that lashed the state five times during 2010 caused severe loss not only to farmers but also to the state. I would like to appeal to farmers not to lose hope and assure all necessary help on behalf of the state government for their recovery from losses.”

The chief minister appealed to people, employees, officials, Congress leaders and other well-wishers not to bring bouquets, sweets, mementos and other gifts to greet him on New Year Day. Instead, he wanted them to contribute the amount to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to lend a helping hand to the needy.
