”Let Ministers resign, Parliament will function”: BJP tells Govt.

New Delhi, May 6 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj on Monday asked the Congress-led UPA Government to sack its two corrupt ministers or else the opposition won”t allow the Parliament to function.

Swaraj, who is the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, said ”the entire opposition is united that no bill should be passed amidst pandemonium, especially Food Security Bill and Land Acquisition Bill”.

“We ourselves want debate. The government should seek the resignation of corrupt ministers and parliament will function,” she added.

Swaraj alleged that the Congress-led UPA Government was trying to push the Food Security Bill to divert people”s attention from the misdeeds of its ministers.

“The way government tried to push through the Food Security Bill today is an attempt to divert attention from their misdeeds. They want to divert the country”s attention from loot by their ministers and comments of the Supreme Court,” she said.

The Congress Party has ruled out resignation of Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Union Law and Justice Minister Ashwani Kumar, leading to confrontation with the opposition parties.

The opposition has been demanding the Law Minister”s resignation, accusing him of trying to interfere with what is meant to be an independent probe into how private players got coal licenses.

The BJP, which has intensified the attack on the Railway Minister over bribery charges against his nephew V. Singla, has demanded that the Congress leader be quizzed by the CBI to ”unravel the conspiracy” in the case and launch a probe into alleged investments made by him and his family. (ANI)
