New Delhi: The Lenovo K8 Note to become the first smartphone from the company having Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Anuj Sharma, Head of Product Marketing, Smartphones, Lenovo said. Lenovo will disregard all of its Vibe Pure UI customizations which its earlier phones fulfilled with.
“What we have done in last 11 months is we looked at what we had in terms of software perspective. We have been close to the consumers and we saw what they were asking for. There was a certain trend and we have now decided to cut the Vibe Pure UI off from our phones. So you will now get the stock Android which consumers have been asking for,” Sharma told Gadgets 360.
The K8 will provide the users with a cleaner interface and no excess bloat wares. The company says that it will be able to provide now, better support with efficient updates.
With the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, users will get latest features like multi-window, launch actions and improved bundled notifications. In addition, the OS will also allow users to access popular Google services, including Google Assistant.
The smartphone is all set to be launched on August 9. It has also been confirmed that the new smartphone will be launched exclusively on Amazon.
Lenovo K8 Note was earlier spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website which revealed some expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone.
In the GeekBench listing, the Lenovo K8 Note got 1659 points in single-core test and in multi-core test it received 4844 points. As per the listing on Geekbench, the Lenovo K8 Note has 4GB RAM and MediaTek Helio X20 1.39 GHz deca-core processor. The handset is based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.
