The indefinite hunger strike launched by seven Left parties near Indira Park on the power issue entered the second day on Sunday.
Hundreds of Left parties’ activities are participating in the dharna being led by CPI State Secretary K Narayana, CPI (M) State Secretary BV Raghavulu and leaders of other left parties. Addressing the dharna camp, Raghuvulu demanded that the State Government announce roll back of hike in the power tariff in the next two days. Demanding that the announcement be made in the State Legislative Assembly, he said that the government should also withdraw Fuel Surcharge Adjustment.
Raghuvulu appealed to all opposition parties to support the agitation while raising the issue in the State Legislative Assembly. He said that the indefinite hunger strike would continue until the government withdraws the hike in power tariff and fulfill other demands.
Leaders of the CPI, CPI (M), CPI (ML-New Democracy), MCPI (U), Forward Bloc, RSP and CPI (ML) are participating in the dharna. (INN)
