Left parties condemns frequent adjournment of the House

The Left Parties on Monday accused the ruling Congress party of avoiding discussions on matters of public importance.

CPI MLA K Sambasiva Rao told reporters at Assembly Media Point that the State Government has agreed to hold short discussion on the energy scenario in the State in the House on Monday. However, instead of holding discussion, the ruling party, with the covert support of MIM and Lok Satta, has ensured adjournment of the House. He accused the MIM and Lok Satta of trying to shield the government from facing tough questions on matters of public importance.

Sambasiva Rao also demanded that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, instead of shielding the corrupt ministers, should take action against them to prove his resolve against corruption. He said that the government should also take severe action against the corrupt officials involved in various scams.

CPM floor leader J Ranga Reddy also asked the government to get serious on running the House smoothly. However, he said he would consider legal options for the recovery of public money being wasted due to the non-functioning of legislative assembly. (INN)
