Left parties ask government to stop workers’ exploitation

The left parties on Tuesday stated that the nation-wide strike of employees in protest against `anti-worker’ and `anti-people’ policies being pursued by the State and Central Governments received good response in the State from all sections of people.

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Communist Party of India floor leader G Mallesh and Communist Party (Marxist) floor leader Julakanti Rangareddy said that the strike should open the eyes of both Centre and State governments. “At least now both the Centre and state government should stop the exploitation of workers and take steps for their benefit,” they said.

They thanked all the employees’ leaders for observing the bandh peacefully and in an organised manner. Stating that about 5.5 lakh workers were presently working in outsourcing of various departments in the State, they appealed to the government to take steps for their welfare on par with government staff. They warned the government of serious consequences if it neglects the welfare of employees. (INN)
