Left Parties allege PM Using CBI against Political Opponents

CPI national secretary Dr K Narayana has alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was indulging in black mail politics and  trying to bring  political opponents to his side using CBI as a pawn.

The CPI along with CPM, CPI (ML-New Democracy), SUCI and others organized a  rally from Bashirbagh Press Club to Abids.  protesting the decision of demonetisation of big notes by the NDA government,  marking the completion of one year. The police arrested the leaders of all political parties at Nizam College main gate. Narayana, ET Narasimha (CPI), Thammineni Veerabhadram (CPM), Goverdhan, Chalapathi Rao (CPI ML New Democracy) were among those arrested by the police.

On the occasion, jostling took place between the police and left parties activists, who carried placards and flags. The activists raised slogans against the central government and police.

Speaking on the occasion, Narayana questioned Modi, who earlier never met Karunanidi though he visited Chennai several times, to tell as to why he met the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidi at this juncture. Modi met Karunanidi only to enter into alliance with DMK as AIDMK divided in to  two groups, he pointed out. He said that Modi was trying to enter into alliance with DMK using CBI’s 2G Spectrum case against DMK Leaders and hence Modi government influenced the Court to postpone the judgment to next month. The Modi government was influencing the CBI for its selfish ends, he alleged.

Finding fault with the TRS government for draining the right of staging protest programs, Narayana asked police, who were given permission on Tuesday for the rally, to tell as to why they arrested them today.  He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was adopting dual standards and was trying to impress the Prime Minister.

Thammineni alleged that sycophants of Modi only benefited with the demonetisation of big notes. He alleged that the nation’s economy was  disturbed with the demonetisation of big notes and introduction of GST.  Development registered  only 5.7 percent due to demonetisation and GST, he alleged and said that the nation’s economy has become a stone in the hands of a mad man.
