Leaving Team India was a difficult decision: Gary Kirsten

New Delhi, April 05: Outgoing Team India coach Gary Kirsten said that he had received no official offers to coach an outfit after his India contract expired at the end of the recently concluded World Cup that was won by Dhoni’s men after a gap of 28 years and added that all the players stood by him to achieved the impossible.

“I’ve received no official word on it (coaching extension). Leaving Team India was a difficult decision, I would now like to spend more time with my family (in South Africa),” Gary told a press conference.

He also said that he had given his best in preparing the Indian team for the World Cup adding, “I worked as much as possible for victory. All the players stood by me.”

He was all praise for the World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni and said that Dhoni was the best captain he has ever seen.
