At least 15 killed, 14 wounded in ‘terrorist attack’ in China’s Xinjiang region

An attack in the western Chinese region of Xinjiang reportedly killed 15 people and wounded 14 others.

According to the BBC, state media said that the violence started when a group of “terrorists” attacked civilians in Shache county, 200km from the regional capital of Kashgar.

China’s state-run Xinhua news agency reported that the assailants hurled bombs at people on a street lined with food stalls, before stabbing them with knives.

The region has been a witness to raging violence that has claimed up to 150 lives this year.

The report said that eleven of the dead are said to be the attackers. (ANI)
