Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan on Tuesday said that the exit of senior leaders including ministers and MLAs would not harm the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons here, Kondru said that the Congress party would not weaken with some senior leaders leaving the party. He said there were about 300 second line leaders in each Assembly constituency who would replace the old ones. Therefore, he said that it was wrong to assume the exodus would harm the Congress party.
Meanwhile, he dismissed the reports of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy floating a new political party. He described the reports as rumous and media speculation. He said that the Chief Minister’s family has been loyal to the Congress since many generations.
Regarding Telangana Bill, Kondru said that the Bill should be debated in the State Legislative Assembly. Else, he said that the Centre would consider that all people in Andhra Pradesh were in favour of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. (INN)
