LBRCE annual day held

Hyderabad, February 26: The 13th annual day of Lakireddy Bali Reddy College of Engineering (LBRCE) was held here on Friday on a grand scale, with former Speaker of the Legislative Assembly K.R. Suresh Reddy attending as chief guest and complimenting the management for developing an institution of high standards in a backward area.

“This college is a perfect example of how the dream of Jawaharlal Nehru to see India and Bharat coming together can be realised. It is also an answer to former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s desire to create urban facilities in rural areas,” Mr. Suresh Reddy remarked.

Mr. Suresh Reddy complimented the LBRCE management for developing the institution in just 13 years while ensuring quantity as well as quality in education. He said he had a dream during the day, while catching a quick nap in the magnificent palace of Lakireddy Hanimi Reddy, of reaching the place in a flying car. “But I’m confident the students of LBRCE would one day make such a car with their innovation,” he said.

V. Sivalinga Prasad, a former Director of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), delivered the keynote address, and said that only 10 per cent of institutions offering professional courses were maintaining good standards. The remaining 90 per cent were being run on commercial lines. It was good to see LBRCE being run on non-profit lines and in a philanthropic mode, he noted.

LBRCE chairman Lakireddy Bali Reddy presided over the function. Among others, local MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and S.V.S. Devasthanam (Dwaraka Tirumala) chairman S.V. Sudhakara Rao attended.
