Lawyers throng court as eminent luminaries argue

The CBI court in Nampalli was crammed as lawyers thronged to hear the eminent legal luminaries argue for and against the YSR Congress chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the disproportionate assets case he is facing.

While supreme court leading lawyers Sushil Kumar and Mukul Rohtgi appeared for Jagan, eminent jurist and former Supreme Court judge Ashok Bhan appeared for the CBI. Reports said that India’s most famous lawyer Ram Jethmalani who is presently in London is being brought to Hyderabad to argue on behalf of Jagan. As reports appeared about the eminent lawyers appearing for both sides, enthusiastic city lawyers thronged the court to hear their arguments.

As the court hall was jam-packed, CBI judge has requested lawyers who were not concerned with the case to leave the room. As they did not oblige, the judge has retired to his chambers for a while, and came back only after the court hall was cleared of unconnected lawyers. Arguments began then.(NSS)
