Noida, March 07: The role of lawyers is pivotal in any liberal democracy and it is important they respect those holding opposite views and are willing to resolve differences through dialogue, Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan said here today.
“In order to sustain and deepen the democratic system, it is important for law students to imbibe values such as respect for those who hold contrarian views and the willingness to resolve differences through constructive dialogue and sensitivity to the needs of the poor and disadvantaged sections of society,” Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan said this evening at the valediction ceremony of Amity National Moot Court Competition.
