Hyderabad, December 13: Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh will be helpful in attaining social justice in all the three regions of the State, the National Lawyers’ Forum For Social Justice
(NLFFSJ) has said. Addressing a press conference here today, NLFFSJ
members said it was not proper for some MLAs, MPs and lawyers to demand, at this juncture, that the State remain united. “I come from the Andhra region and feel it is better for the region to be carved out of the united State. The Central Government should go ahead and divide the State at the earliest,’’ NLFFSJ president N Saida Rao said.
“Raising a hue and cry by leaders of Andhra and Rayalaseema regions at this moment is meaningless. It is too late for them to raise the issue as they have kept quiet for so long. It is time to move on and develop the Andhra region,’’ Saida Rao said.
He also demanded immediate establishment of High Court in Vijayawada.
“It is said the government is in search of land for moving the High court following a fire accident in the existing building. We demand establishment
of the court in Vijayawada first before taking up other issues,’’ Saida Rao
added.
As the government made its intention clear about carving out Telangana, members said it was time for the government to think about how to share revenue among Andhra, Rayalaseema and Telangana regions.
